The government announced plans to establish three additional nano fertiliser facilities, aiming to boost production capacity to 17 crore bottles per annum. These plants, set up by private and public fertiliser companies, signify a major push toward enhancing fertiliser production without direct government involvement.
Presently, seven nano-urea plants and three nano DAP plants are operational, producing 27.22 crore and 7.64 crore bottles annually. Since their inception, 10.68 crore bottles of nano urea and 2.75 crore bottles of nano DAP have been sold nationwide, including in tribal regions.
The government, collaborating with states and fertilizer companies, emphasizes promoting nano fertilisers through various initiatives. Efforts include field-level demonstrations and awareness campaigns to encourage adoption across India's diverse agro-climatic zones.
