Maharashtra is well equipped with fertilisers for the Kharif 2025 season, according to a Parliamentary disclosure on Tuesday. The state holds a buffer stock of 76,000 tonnes of urea and 13,000 tonnes of DAP (Di Ammonium Phosphate), as confirmed by Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Anupriya Patel, in a Rajya Sabha statement.
The latest data indicates robust coverage of fertiliser requirements, with Maharashtra holding significantly higher amounts than needed pro rata in several categories. For example, the urea availability reached 14.12 LMT by July 24 against a requirement of 9.59 LMT, indicating sufficient resources to handle any demand upsurge swiftly.
The state has also ensured comfortable stocks for DAP and MOP, with availability exceeding pro rata needs in both cases. The state's proactive management and advanced distribution strategies have positioned it to maintain and meet the seasonal demands seamlessly, supported by the Integrated Fertilizer Monitoring System (iFMS).
