Blackstone Inc, a leading global investment firm, confirmed on Tuesday the tragic loss of a senior executive, Wesley LePatner, during a shooting incident in Manhattan. The gunman, armed with an assault rifle, entered the office building at 345 Park Avenue on Monday, claiming several lives, including LePatner's.
The company expressed profound sadness, stating, "We are heartbroken to share that our colleague, Wesley LePatner, was among those who lost their lives in the tragic incident. Words cannot express the devastation we feel." The loss leaves a significant void in the firm.
LePatner served as a senior managing director and was the Global Head of Core+ Real Estate, as well as the CEO of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust (BREIT). His leadership and presence in these roles were pivotal for the company's operations and vision.
