Mamata Banerjee Launches New Phase of Krishak Bandhu Scheme
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announced the initiation of fresh financial assistance under the Krishak Bandhu (Natun) scheme, benefiting over one crore farmers. The scheme provides Rs 10,000 per acre annually. The initiative since 2019 has disbursed Rs 24,086 crore, including social security for deceased farmers' families.

West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, has announced an enhancement in the financial support for farmers across the state under the 'Krishak Bandhu (Natun)' scheme.
The initiative, which commenced disbursing funds on Tuesday, aims to deliver Rs 10,000 per acre to each farmer and sharecropper annually, split into bi-annual installments.
This year, the scheme is set to positively impact 1 crore 9 lakh farmers, with a total of Rs 2,930 crore being disbursed directly into beneficiaries' bank accounts.
The 'Krishak Bandhu (Natun)' scheme, renamed in June 2021, has been a significant source of support for farmers, allocating Rs 24,086 crore since its inception in 2019. Additionally, it offers Rs 2 lakh in social security to families of deceased farmers, supporting nearly 1 lakh 46 thousand in West Bengal.
Banerjee expressed her government's ongoing commitment to the welfare of farmers, whom she described as the wealth and pride of the state.
