Gujarat Leads the Way in Empowering Tribal Communities with PM JANMAN
Gujarat has topped India's state rankings for implementing the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN) in July 2025. The state focuses on the development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups by ensuring their access to essential services like healthcare, education, and infrastructure, thereby improving their living conditions.

Gujarat has emerged as the leading state in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN) for July 2025, according to official reports. This ambitious mission was launched by the Union Government to enhance the socio-economic well-being of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
The scheme aims to fulfill long-standing needs for essential services, including healthcare, education, and basic infrastructure. Gujarat's government has focused on providing housing, road connectivity, piped water supply, and healthcare facilities to improve living standards for the PVTGs residing within the state.
Intensive surveys have facilitated targeted facilities delivery, such as the construction of approved residences and operational routes for better connectivity. In addition, healthcare and educational outreach have been extended, making substantial strides in uplifting the most vulnerable tribes.
