Andhra Pradesh Accelerates Major Power Sector Schemes
Andhra Pradesh's Chief Secretary K Vijayanand has urged officials to speed up implementation of key power sector initiatives. At a meeting with APCPDCL and other officials, he stressed on the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, rooftop solar projects, and PM-KUSUM to enhance energy reliability and consumer satisfaction.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K Vijayanand has called for an acceleration in the implementation of critical power sector projects. During a meeting at the Bapatla collector office, attended by officials from the Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APCPDCL) and the energy department, the focus was on judging the advancement of centrally sponsored schemes.
The chief secretary emphasized speeding up projects under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, which promotes rooftop solar power, and PM-KUSUM's Component-C that assures energy security for farmers. The importance of visible improvements and consumer satisfaction through timely project execution was highlighted.
Additionally, progress regarding the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana was scrutinized, with Vijayanand urging expedited rooftop solar installations and timely subsidy disbursement. The meeting also reviewed PM-KUSUM Component-C, where resolving land issues and advancing feeder-level solarization were deemed priorities.
