Odisha's Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling lauded the state's achievements under two major healthcare schemes, Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana, during a recent statement. He highlighted that since the schemes' launch on April 11, more than 2.6 lakh people have received necessary treatment and benefits.
Positioning Odisha as a frontrunner, Minister Mahaling noted that the state ranks second nationwide in enrollment for Ayushman Bharat, trailing only Uttar Pradesh. He critiqued the opposition for spreading falsehoods about the scheme's effectiveness, declaring Odisha's progress as substantial proof against such claims.
Mahaling attributed this success to the unwavering commitment of the state government towards enhancing healthcare infrastructure. The schemes were initially launched by Union Minister JP Nadda in Cuttack, placing emphasis on ensuring substantial health coverage for the economically vulnerable sections of society.
