In a groundbreaking move to blend innovation with education, the Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled a new initiative under the 'Learning by Doing' program. This ambitious endeavor aims to transform educators into experimenters and tech-savvy professionals.
With the support of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and the PM SHRI scheme, a comprehensive phase-wise training program will commence in Lucknow. Hosted at the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development and Deen Dayal Upadhyay State Rural Development Institute, the training focuses on equipping science and mathematics teachers, technical instructors, and other educational professionals with advanced teaching skills. Scheduled to begin on August 5, 2025, and run through March 18, 2026, the initiative has received technical backing from UNICEF and the STAR Forum-Vigyan Ashram.
'The Learning by Doing program offers a new direction to Uttar Pradesh's education system,' stated Sandeep Singh, Minister of Basic Education. By enhancing teachers' skills, the initiative aims to empower teachers to offer hands-on, logical learning experiences, thereby elevating education quality under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Special emphasis will be placed on the Learning by Doing model, involving a series of training sessions for thousands of educators from selected schools across the state, including the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs).
