In a robust demonstration of vigilance from April to July 2025, Meghalaya's Border Security Force (BSF) carried out 33 significant seizures and apprehended 35 individuals. The seizures amounted to goods valued over Rs 39 lakhs, including a new trend of smuggled mobile displays worth Rs 31 lakhs. Among those detained were 23 Indians and 12 Bangladeshis.

The period saw 116 Bangladeshi nationals and 34 Indians apprehended for illegal activities like infiltration and smuggling. Key to these operations was the collaboration with Meghalaya police, leading to the seizure of contraband worth Rs 7.5 crore. Items included Yaba tablets, cattle, and garments, targeting illegal trans-border activities.

Displaying humanitarian outreach, BSF provided medical aid to tourists and villagers. Notable actions included evacuating an unconscious patient, Berlin Tariang, for advanced care, and rescuing accident victims. Such acts underline BSF's commitment to security and the welfare of border communities.

Regular field meetings with the Border Guards Bangladesh are fostering cooperation to tackle smuggling and infiltration. The BSF uses intelligence from interrogations of detainees to target trans-border crime syndicates, working alongside enforcement agencies for comprehensive action.
