Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has taken a significant step towards reforming the state's energy sector. In a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and senior officials, Reddy directed the formation of a new DISCOM to streamline power distribution in the region.
The proposed DISCOM will bring existing free power schemes, such as free electricity for agriculture and educational institutes, under its umbrella. This move is expected to consolidate resources and improve the efficiency of power distribution across Telangana.
Additionally, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of integrating solar energy into the state infrastructure, advocating for solar plants in government schools, colleges, and offices to promote sustainable energy consumption.
