In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court has acquitted all the accused in the 2008 Malegaon Blast case, leading to widespread reactions and debates. Among the voices, Yog Guru Baba Ramdev has strongly criticized attempts to associate Hindutva and its symbols with terrorism.
Baba Ramdev, speaking to ANI, highlighted the impact of terms like 'Hindu terrorism' and 'saffron terrorism,' which he alleges were used to tarnish the image of Hindutva and Sanatan Dharma. Articulating gratitude towards the court's verdict, Ramdev remarked that the truth has now been unveiled to the world, providing a sense of vindication to those falsely accused.
The case, transferred to the NIA in 2011 due to its complexity, saw 331 witnesses testify. Despite initial accusations against 11 individuals, the court's final judgment acquitted the seven who faced charges under multiple counts. Enhanced security measures were observed outside the Mumbai Special NIA court as the historic verdict, awaited by many, was delivered, marking the end of a prolonged legal battle.
