Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, has announced a significant compensation package, disbursing Rs 52.14 crore to 22,617 farmers who suffered crop losses due to hailstorms and heavy rains during the 2025 Rabi season. The announcement came on July 31, 2025, following the comprehensive data collection through the 'Kshatipurti portal'.
The portal, operational between December 2024 and March 2025, facilitated meticulous assessments and verifications of farmer-reported losses. Through physical verification, approximately 57,485 acres across 15 districts were deemed eligible for compensation. Key districts included Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, and others, each receiving aid proportionate to their verified affected areas.
Rewari emerged as the highest beneficiary with Rs 19.92 crore, followed by Mahendergarh and Jhajjar. The initiative, supervised by the Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Department, underscores state efforts to provide timely financial relief to farmers grappling with the adverse effects of extreme weather conditions.
