Heavy torrential rains have wreaked havoc in Trilla Village, Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the collapse of several houses. Residents, like Sharda Devi, have been left homeless and are urging government intervention. Devi recounted the swift destruction, questioning where her family could now take shelter.

Her son, Pawan Kumar, appealed for urgent assistance, stressing the dire need for temporary accommodation. "My house collapsed due to heavy rain," he remarked, urging authorities to provide housing or at least tents. The monsoon calamity has not only affected Kumar but also claimed 3-4 more homes in their village, highlighting the widespread destruction.

In response, authorities have opened all spillway gates of the Baglihar Hydroelectric Power Project in Ramban, issuing warnings to keep people away from riverbanks. Officials have been instructed to coordinate in monitoring the Chenab River bank, while local leaders advise residents against river vicinity due to safety threats. Meteorological forecasts warn of continuing adverse weather, with potential flash floods and landslides threatening Jammu and Kashmir communities.
