The Rajya Sabha faced a turbulent session as proceedings were adjourned until 12 noon due to vocal protests from the Opposition regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar. The Deputy Chairman, Harivansh, halted the session as opposition MPs vociferously demanded a debate on the contentious SIR exercise.

Dismissing the requests for business suspension, Harivansh reiterated that the Election Commission is an independent constitutional body and that the issue is currently pending before the Supreme Court. The day's session began at 11 AM, marking the 10th day of the ongoing Monsoon Session, with both Houses witnessing adjournments amidst uproars.

The Rajya Sabha is scheduled to reconvene at 12 noon to tackle pressing legislative matters, including a critical resolution for extending President's Rule in Manipur and considering the Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill, 2025. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to present a resolution seeking parliamentary approval for continuing the presidential proclamation concerning Manipur, amidst a post-resignation political void left by former Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
