In a bid to honor Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to strategize the plantation of 75 lakh trees. This ambitious initiative, 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0', was originally launched by PM Modi on June 5, 2024, to intertwine environmental stewardship with a touching homage to mothers.
Currently in its second phase, 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0' encourages citizens to plant trees in the name of their mothers, fostering an emotional connection alongside ecological responsibility. Union Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh expressed pride in the campaign, noting a substantial increase in forest cover across the nation as a direct result of such initiatives.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami echoed similar sentiments, urging public participation in environmental conservation efforts. Meanwhile, PM Modi highlighted international participation during his engagements with global leaders, further broadening the campaign's impact. The initiative continues to resonate, reinforcing a commitment to sustainable development and intergenerational legacy.
