Tragic Leap: Teenage Girl Locked in River Drama After Argument

An 18-year-old girl took a drastic step after a heated argument with her boyfriend, diving into the Kharkhai River from Dobo bridge in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

Local authorities identified the girl as Sumitra Pramanik, a resident of Bhuiyadih who was staying as a paying guest in Bistupur. Sumitra was accompanied by a friend when she decided to separate and take the leap.

Sonari police station's officer-in-charge, Kumar Saryu Anand, noted that ongoing heavy rains were complicating search efforts conducted by local divers. The incident has drawn significant local concern and attention.
