Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has firmly dismissed allegations from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding the Election Commission's alleged role in voter fraud. Rijiju described the opposition's claims as a "malicious plan" to tarnish constitutional bodies and accused Gandhi of threatening democratic institutions. "This isn't the first instance of Rahul Gandhi menacing constitutional bodies," Rijiju remarked, labeling the opposition's actions a conspiracy aimed at undermining democracy, which he deems "dangerous."

Rijiju also pointed to a rift within the opposition ranks, suggesting that dissent against Gandhi is rising. "Even within his party, leaders are beginning to oppose Rahul Gandhi," Rijiju asserted. He implied that Gandhi's actions are damaging, stating, "People are saying Rahul is playing a dirty game to tarnish the country's image."

Gandhi had previously leveled serious accusations against the Election Commission, alleging its involvement in large-scale voter fraud intended to benefit the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking on the Bihar Special Intensive Revision exercise, he claimed to possess conclusive evidence of electoral malpractice, labeling it an "atom bomb" of findings that could severely impact the Election Commission's credibility. Gandhi expressed dissatisfaction with the Election Commission's cooperation in the investigation, stating the Congress had conducted its probe, which led to these explosive findings.
