Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assured residents during an event that no slum in the capital will be demolished without first providing proper houses. Gupta allocated a budget of Rs 700 crore for slum development, emphasizing the need for a unified effort to transform Delhi's living conditions.
Criticizing political maneuvering around slum issues, Gupta targeted Rahul Gandhi, noting his recent visits, and the previous AAP government for their lack of infrastructural developments in slum areas. She pledged importance to employment and skill training programs while amending policies to ensure dignity and housing for all residents.
Gupta, while visiting a slum camp in Shalimar Bagh, assured residents of adequate rehabilitation measures. She launched the 'Delhi Ko Koode Se Azaadi' campaign, participated in a cleanliness drive, and reiterated her commitment to developing ISBTs and transport stations. Political figures, including Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, joined the Swachh Bharat Mission in Green Park.
