The Rajasthan weather department has issued a significant rainfall warning for northern and north-eastern parts of the state in the coming days, as heavy showers are anticipated in certain areas. According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, a circulation system currently resides over Haryana and adjacent north-west Rajasthan, intersecting the monsoon trough line through Ganganagar and Rohtak, potentially sparking rains across multiple regions.
Anticipated weather conditions include heavy rain in isolated areas within the Bikaner division and Shekhawati region on Friday. Meanwhile, widespread moderate to heavy showers are expected in parts of the Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions. Officials indicate the monsoon trough line will drift north in the next several days, maintaining rainfall activity in northern and north-eastern Rajasthan, while temporarily easing in southern areas.
Commencing August 3, heavy rainfall is set to intensify in segments of the Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions. Very heavy rain warnings have been issued for several Bharatpur districts for August 4. July has been historically wet for Rajasthan, recording a total rainfall of 285 mm—a 77% increase over the long-term average—making it the wettest July in nearly 70 years. The IMD has released alerts for ongoing heavy rains in several districts, with severe rainfall predicted for regions like Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and others.
