A disturbing incident unfolded on Friday morning when a 16-year-old student named Rohit reportedly took his own life by jumping in front of a moving shuttle train. The event came shortly after a family argument, casting a pall of sorrow over the local community.
According to preliminary investigations by Sub-inspector Sanjay Kumar, the young boy, who was a class 7 student at a government school, took the drastic step after quarreling with his mother. Tragically, Rohit died instantly at the scene as the train began its journey towards Delhi. No suicide note has been discovered, adding to the mystery surrounding his death.
Eyewitnesses observed Rohit sitting near the tracks around 11:30 am, prompting some individuals to approach him, but he remained unresponsive. The incident resulted in a 45-minute disruption of train services. Officials from the government railway police (GRP) have since initiated an investigation, and the boy's body has been sent for post-mortem. Rohit belonged to a family residing in Ram Nagar colony for years, with his father working as a driver.
