In a strategic operation, Anantnag Police, in collaboration with the Special Operations Group (SOG) PC Chittergul, the Army's 19 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and the 96 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), successfully intercepted illegal arms during a routine vehicle inspection on Krad Ranipora Road.

The operation was triggered when security forces flagged down a suspicious vehicle that attempted to evade the naka checkpoint. The alert checkpoint party managed to halt the vehicle, arresting the driver and two passengers. A detailed search led to the recovery of arms and ammunition from the individuals.

The individuals, identified as Waseem Rehman, Eahsan Akram, and Ishfaq Ahmed Bhat, are believed to have procured the illegal arms from the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), with plans to execute a terror attack. They have been detained under FIR No. 40/2025 and relevant sections of the UAPA and Arms Act as investigations proceed.
