The Odisha Crime Branch has executed a significant operation against illegal drug distribution, confiscating over 26,000 bottles of Codeine-based cough syrup, according to officials on Saturday. The crackdown led to the arrest of a suspect, with nearly Rs 25 lakh in cash discovered during the investigation, which shows signs of continued illegal activities.

Speaking to ANI, Crime Branch DGP Vinaytosh Mishra detailed the operation's success, starting with a raid at Trackon Courier Pvt Ltd near LIC Colony Badam Badi, where a notable cache of the prohibited syrup was uncovered. This initial raid resulted in the arrest of Anshuman, alias Raja, and further intelligence led to another substantial seizure at Mancheswar Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar.

In tandem with the drug investigation, the Odisha Crime Branch resolved the OTET-2025 question paper leakage issue this week. Six individuals have been implicated in this scandal, with electronic devices and bank accounts under scrutiny. The probe revealed significant digital transactions linked to the leak, highlighting the complexities of modern examination fraud.
