PM Modi to Unveil Rs 2200 Crore Varanasi Development Bonanza
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 2200 crore in Varanasi. Highlights include infrastructure upgrades in education, health, sports, and tourism, along with releasing the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan Scheme benefitting over 9.7 crore farmers.

Preparations are in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Varanasi on Saturday, where he will lay the foundation stone for and inaugurate several development projects valued at approximately Rs 2200 crore. Welcoming hoardings adorn the city, marking Modi's 51st visit to his Lok Sabha constituency.
In a social media update on Friday, PM Modi announced his plans to unveil projects spanning education, health, sports, tourism, and connectivity. He will also observe the release of the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan Scheme. 'Tomorrow, August 2, holds special significance for my family members in Kashi,' he stated.
Major infrastructure initiatives include the widening of the Varanasi-Bhadohi road, the Chhitauni-Shool Tankeshwar road, and the commissioning of the Hardattpur Railway Overbridge. Modi will also address power infrastructure enhancements and upgrade rural and urban roads and corridors.
In a move to boost tourism, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the redevelopment of eight riverfront Kuccha Ghats and restoration works at several significant cultural sites. Additionally, he will launch the development of an Urban Miyawaki Forest and the beautification of Shaheed Udyan and other parks.
Modi's educational initiatives encompass the upgradation of 53 school buildings and the foundation laying for a new district library. Health infrastructure will see advancements with the inauguration of medical equipment installations and a new Homoeopathic College and Hospital.
The Prime Minister will also release the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan Scheme, transferring over Rs 20,500 crore to the bank accounts of more than 9.7 crore farmers nationwide, with the total disbursement exceeding Rs 3.90 lakh crore since inception.
