Celebating the 15th anniversary of the Student Police Cadet (SPC) project at Peroorkada SAP Parade Ground, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan praised the initiative for gaining public trust and evolving into the state's unique model. The Chief Minister highlighted that SPC's success has influenced other Indian states to adopt the same model.

Inaugurated on August 2, 2010, the SPC project has been pivotal in nurturing values-driven youth, stated Vijayan. SPC cadets have played a significant role in addressing crises, from COVID-19 to the Wayanad disaster, earning national recognition for their service and humanitarian efforts. Additionally, they have actively participated in anti-drug campaigns.

The SPC initiative, a collaboration between the Kerala Police and multiple departments, aims to empower high school students by promoting law adherence, civic responsibility, and community service. The program strengthens youth against social issues like substance abuse and advocates for a commitment towards family and environment.
