The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has achieved an extraordinary financial milestone, recording a profit of Rs 315 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25, an official statement confirmed. This remarkable turnaround comes after the board had accumulated losses totaling Rs 3,742 crore until March 31, 2024.

This profit is not merely a number but a testament to the commitment of the current state government towards its vision, dubbed 'Nai Soch, Naya Himachal,' as expressed by a government spokesperson. The transformation was facilitated by reform-driven policies, administrative transparency, and stringent financial discipline.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu attributed the success to clear policy directions, honest governance, and a focus on welfare. Under these reforms, Rs 368.89 crore was allocated for gratuity and other employee benefits, significantly up from the previous year's Rs 87.56 crore, with Rs 187.86 crore already disbursed by July 31, 2025.
