Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Chief and newly appointed Rajya Sabha MP, Kamal Haasan, extended his congratulations to Shah Rukh Khan and other National Film Award recipients. In a heartfelt message on X, Haasan acknowledged Khan's overdue recognition for 'Jawan' and lauded the impactful film '12th Fail' by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Vikrant Massey, as well as Rani Mukherjee's exceptional performance.

Addressing his political responsibilities, Haasan emphasized his commitment to Tamil Nadu after being sworn in as a Rajya Sabha MP. He stated his intent to prioritize the state's issues while acknowledging the weight of his new role. "My first focus is Tamil Nadu. I hope I will do my duty properly," Haasan said during a media interaction.

In a recent response to a shocking caste-based crime in Tamil Nadu, Haasan condemned the murder of 27-year-old IT worker Kavin Selva Ganesh. He urged the state government to deliver justice and called for political unity against caste-based atrocities, labeling these issues as the primary social enemy to be combated.
