During his Bihar visit on 'Kisan Utsav Diwas,' Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the impact of the PM-KISAN scheme, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has facilitated the transfer of over ₹20,000 crore to nearly 10 crore farmers' bank accounts. He described Bihar's land as extraordinary, embodying both science and philosophy, with a robust agricultural sector determined by local villages and farmers' fields.

Chouhan underscored the government's commitment to enhancing farmers' income through initiatives like the PM-KISAN scheme, which he hailed as a pivotal step toward increasing farmers' earnings. He also mentioned a substantial fertiliser subsidy of approximately ₹1.75 lakh crore aimed at supporting farmers. Furthermore, he lauded Bihar's NDA government, led by Nitish Kumar, for effectively implementing agricultural policies such as the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme and achieving notable success in irrigation.

Over the past five years, the PM-KISAN scheme has become a transformative force in the farming community, advancing financial inclusion and rural empowerment. The scheme's direct and timely assistance to farmers, coupled with its seamless digital infrastructure for transparent fund transfers, has set new standards in effective governance. The initiative increased farmers' risk-taking ability, allowing them to make productive investments and attend to various needs, such as education and healthcare, further reinforcing its positive impact on their livelihoods.
