In a critical move for disaster recovery, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met Union Minister Bhupender Yadav in New Delhi, advocating for relaxed forest norms to aid families affected by natural calamities. Sukhu detailed the state's substantial losses from recent severe weather events, including damage to infrastructure and the tragic loss of lives.

Sukhu called for the allocation of one bigha of land for those displaced, emphasizing that with 68% forest coverage, the state needs adaptable regulations for effective rehabilitation. Discussions also covered river dredging and the necessity for tailored policies for hill states' unique challenges.

Highlighting a significant achievement, the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited announced a historic profit of Rs 315 crore for the financial year 2024-25. This marks a successful turnaround from years of losses, attributed to strategic reforms by the current administration under Sukhu's guidance, reflecting its 'Nai Soch, Naya Himachal' vision.
