Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha National President and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. K Laxman paid a courtesy visit to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday. During their meeting, both leaders engaged in discussions on various timely issues.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sanctioned an increase in the dearness allowance rates for state employees and those of state autonomous bodies. Starting January 1, the rates will rise from 455% to 466% for the fifth pay scale and from 246% to 252% monthly for those under the sixth pay scale.

The Chief Minister also released an initial sum of Rs 40 crore for the slope stabilization project in the Joshimath disaster-affected area, with a total scheme budget of Rs 516 crore. Additionally, a Rs 200 crore allocation was sanctioned in anticipation of central funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission program.

Further financial approvals include Rs 350 lakh for the Uttarakhand Drinking Water Corporation and Rs 10 lakh for the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan. These allocations are intended for NABARD, State Sector, EAP, and Ring Fencing initiatives. An additional Rs 150 lakh was also approved.

A new Rs 11 crore scheme has been approved for fortifying the Ramjhula bridge in Tehri Garhwal's Narendra Nagar constituency as part of the state's infrastructure enhancement plans.
