AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj has slammed the BJP's proposed school fee legislation, denouncing it as a boon for private educational institutions and a blow to parental rights. Bharadwaj accused the bill of protecting what he termed the 'education mafia' and demanded transparency from the Chief Minister and Education Minister regarding how previous arbitrary fee hikes would be addressed and why crucial audit mechanisms were removed.

At a press conference, Bharadwaj outlined the contentious developments since the BJP took charge in Delhi. He highlighted a sharp rise in private school fees at the onset of the academic year, citing protests outside schools like DPS Dwarka. Despite earlier promises of comprehensive audits by the BJP government, Bharadwaj revealed that audit reports remain unpublished four months on, casting doubts on governmental commitments.

Criticism continued as Bharadwaj questioned the introduction of a new complaint system requiring support from 15% of parents, arguing that it serves as a barrier to addressing grievances. He also blasted the committee system's potential manipulation, stressing that school-chosen representatives might undermine genuine parental representation. Bharadwaj concluded by questioning the dilution of land clauses and called for clarity on how past fee hikes will be rectified under the new legislation.
