The Punjab Government has officially extended the deadline for general transfers and postings of state officers and employees, according to an announcement from the Personnel Department. The new directive shifts the deadline from August 1 to August 20, 2025, granting additional time for administrative departments to finalize transfer processes.

This revision follows a continuation of previous guidelines set forth in January 2014, originally scheduling the transfer window between June 23 and August 1. The nearly three-week extension aims to accommodate logistical challenges and refine transfer implementations across departments.

A senior government official highlighted the necessity of this change, citing logistical delays as the driving factor. "Post-August 20, a complete halt on general transfers will be enforced. Subsequent transfers will adhere strictly to the government's 2018 transfer policy," the spokesperson affirmed.

The Personnel Department has dispatched official directives to key state entities including departmental heads, divisional and deputy commissioners, sub-divisional magistrates, and the leadership of state boards and corporations. All departments are mandated to finalize necessary changes within the updated timeframe and comply with the policy guidelines moving forward, ensuring streamlined administration and minimal disruptions in governance and service delivery.
