In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a 15-year-old girl from Puri, Odisha, succumbed to her severe burn injuries at AIIMS-Delhi. Her body was flown back to Odisha under stringent security conditions on Sunday night, following the completion of post-mortem examinations.
Upon arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport, the state's Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling met the grieving father, offering condolences and paying their respects with floral tributes.
The incident traces back to July 19, when the victim was reportedly set ablaze by miscreants in Balanga. After a prolonged 14-day fight for life, she passed away, leading the police to assert no others were involved and her father attributing the tragedy to her mental struggles.
