In a swift and coordinated effort, the Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), alongside a forest team, successfully rescued 22 individuals who had lost their way on the Neelkanth road in the Rishikesh region, as reported by the SDRF. The rescue operation was promptly initiated after reports emerged about a group going astray under Police Station Laxman Jhula's jurisdiction. Led by Additional Sub Inspector Mahavir Chauhan, the team managed to safely escort the group to Bhimgoda Barrage, where they were handed over to district police.

Recently, Uttarakhand has faced widespread destruction due to incessant monsoon rains, causing loss of life, disruption to daily activities, and damaging critical infrastructure. On Sunday, in response to flooding in Indira Colony, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Office of Bajpur, Udham Singh Nagar district, quickly deployed the SDRF to manage the situation. The team remains active in the affected zones, closely observing receding water levels of the Levada River with no reported casualties so far. Their vigilance is key to maintaining safety, with administrative officials on-site coordinating efforts to restore normalcy.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand government is set to launch a significant Rs 125 crore project, approved by the Government of India, aimed at mitigating and managing landslides. Under the guidance of CM Dhami, this initiative targets long-term solutions for vulnerable areas. An initial sum of Rs 4.5 crore is allocated for exploratory works and the DPR. The Chief Minister, expressing gratitude to national leadership, emphasized that this project represents a major stride in ensuring the state's resilience against landslides.
