In response to a significant weather warning from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed district officials to remain vigilant. The IMD's alert spans five days, predicting severe weather conditions such as heavy rain and thunderstorms, necessitating a state of readiness across affected districts including Dehradun and Nainital.
In a recent meeting, CM Dhami emphasized the importance of ensuring that essential services like electricity, water, and medical supplies remain uninterrupted. The government is committed to collaborating with the National and State Disaster Response Forces (NDRF and SDRF) to safeguard residents, particularly those residing along vulnerable riverbanks. Simultaneously, the Chief Minister introduced the Chief Minister Empowered Sisters Festival Scheme aimed at empowering women's self-help groups. This initiative seeks to elevate the market presence of products crafted by these groups, enhancing their visibility nationally and globally.
