The Rouse Avenue court on Monday ratified the CBI's closure report concerning corruption allegations against former Delhi Minister Satyender Jain. The Central Bureau of Investigation cited insufficient evidence and absence of sanction as reasons for closing the case, originally filed on May 29, 2019, stemming from a Directorate of Vigilance complaint.

Allegations suggested irregular involvement of professionals within the Public Works Department and breaches of hiring financial regulations, targeting Jain and PWD officials. Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh affirmed the validity of the CBI's decision, noting that further investigation would be warranted only if new evidence emerges.

Details of the alleged misconduct included hiring a 17-member consultancy team under questionable terms, bypassing proper finance department approvals, and altering work scopes to favor Soni Detective & Allied Services Private Limited. While the CBI acknowledged these claims, it found the emoluments in line with standard PWD pay as per the court's observation.
