In a gathering laden with respect and reflection, political figures in Himachal Pradesh paid tribute to Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, the state's inaugural Chief Minister, on his 119th birth anniversary. The event, held at the Vidhan Sabha premises, saw participation from key leaders including Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who collectively celebrated Parmar as the architect of modern Himachal Pradesh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Jai Ram Thakur extolled Parmar's foundational contributions, emphasizing that his vision brought the state into being. He recounted Parmar's insistence on roads as the primary focus for developmental planning, suggesting that infrastructure paves the way for broader progress. Thakur also hinted at a lack of commitment by some leaders, noting the absence of the Chief Minister and Speaker at the event, and underscored the importance of not reducing such tributes to mere formalities.

Additionallly, Minister Anirudh Singh highlighted Parmar's impact on various sectors, including his pivotal role in advancing land reforms. He remarked that the principles championed by Parmar continue to drive Himachal's growth across industries today. While addressing concerns over the absence of top officials, Singh assured that logistics and pre-scheduled commitments caused the absence, affirming that Parmar's legacy goes beyond ceremonial remembrances, serving as a blueprint for future policies.
