India Bolsters Defense with New BrahMos Missile Orders Post-Operation Sindoor

In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, where Indian forces dealt a considerable blow to Pakistani military infrastructure, India is set to augment its arsenal with an extensive order of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles.

High-level defense ministry sources revealed that an impending meeting is expected to green-light the procurement of large quantities of these missiles, which are the product of an Indo-Russian venture. These will be deployed across the Indian Navy, Air Force, and ground units.

The BrahMos missiles played a pivotal role during the four-day conflict, striking Pakistani air bases and army cantonments throughout the nation. As the Indian Navy gears up to equip its Veer-class warships, the Indian Air Force is looking to arm its Russian-made Su-30 MKI fighters with these missiles. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently lauded India's indigenous weapons' performance, highlighting the BrahMos as a symbol of the country's self-reliant defense development.

During the conflict's initial phase, the Indian Air Force targeted terrorist infrastructure within Pakistan, notably the terror hubs of Jaish e Mohammed and Lashkar e Toiba in Punjab province, using BrahMos missiles with remarkable accuracy.
