The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the timeline for the Vice Presidential election, marking a significant event in the nation's political calendar. If necessary, the election will transpire on September 9 between 10 AM and 5 PM at the Parliament House, as detailed in a press release.

Nominations for candidates can be submitted between 11 AM and 3 PM on any working day until August 21, according to ECI. A security deposit of Rs 15,000 is required, payable to the Returning Officer or through the Reserve Bank of India.

Essential documents include a certified electoral roll entry and a receipt of the deposit. The scrutiny of nominations will occur on August 22, continuing the procedure with transparency and adherence to established protocols.

Pending a contested election scenario, polling will be hosted at Room No. F-101, Parliament House.
