The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar has stirred political controversy, as Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha condemns opposition protests against the process. Jha praised the Election Commission for its efforts and dismissed opposition disruptions as ineffective in Bihar.
In a statement to ANI, Jha emphasized the opposition's protest in Delhi lacks impact on Bihar's revision efforts, which have been executed efficiently by the Election Commission. His remarks follow persistent demonstrations by the INDIA bloc parties in Parliament, challenging the EC's voter list revision in Bihar.
Leading opposition figures, including Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, have openly opposed the SIR and expressed concerns over voter deletion, joining protests outside Parliament. The Election Commission assures accuracy in the voter rolls, inviting public input while addressing objections from 5,015 individuals to date.
