Swift Rescue and Relief Efforts in Uttarakashi's Cloudburst Havoc
Following a severe cloudburst in Uttarkashi, three victims have been transported to AIIMS Rishikesh, with one in critical condition. Uttarakhand government and rescue teams have evacuated 274 stranded individuals, ensuring their safety and transporting them for medical checks. Relief operations are ongoing with coordinated efforts from multiple agencies.

In response to a devastating cloudburst in Uttarkashi's Dharali area, AIIMS Rishikesh Director Meenu Singh announced on Thursday that three victims have been admitted to their facility. The condition of a 32-year-old patient is critical due to a spine fracture, while the other two patients remain stable. Additional patients are anticipated as more victims are being brought in, with two already transferred to the Military Hospital in Dehradun.
The Uttarakhand government has confirmed the successful evacuation of 274 people stranded in Gangotri and surrounding regions. The evacuees, including groups from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and other states, have been safely transported to Harshil and are now on their way to Uttarkashi or Dehradun. Medical check-ups are ongoing at Jolly Grant Airport for all rescued individuals.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has visited those affected, reassuring them of proper medical care. The ongoing relief operations involve coordinated efforts from the Uttarakhand Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Army, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), highlighting a determined and comprehensive response to the disaster.
