Kashmiri activist Javed Ahmad Beigh has publicly criticized Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, denouncing the annual commemoration of "Youm-e-Istehsal" as a sham perpetuated by Pakistan's government to manipulate the Kashmir issue.

Beigh, an ethnic Kashmiri Muslim from India's Kashmir Valley, asserted that Pakistan has been using the Kashmir conflict since 1947 to justify its own nation's identity as a security state imbued with hostility towards India. He claims this narrative has been used to reinforce Pakistan's penchant for animosity towards Hindus and India.

He further accused the Pakistan military and ISI of utilizing the conflict to exercise dominance over Pakistan's political and civil bodies. Beigh detailed how, through the injection of guns and religious extremism into the region, Pakistan contributed to the fracture of its composite culture and fueled a severe drug addiction crisis.

The activist highlighted that with the annulment of Article 370, Kashmiri youth are increasingly integrating into India's broader cultural and social framework. He contrasted this with the conditions in Pakistan-Occupied regions, where he alleged oppression continues unabated.
