Authorities in Uttarakhand are working tirelessly to clear roads in Chamoli district, obstructed by landslides following severe rainfall. This comes days after a cloudburst in Uttarkashi triggered widespread destruction.
Sandeep Tiwari, the Chamoli District Magistrate, confirmed the progress, stating all other roads in the district remain open. Meanwhile, a crucial bridge connecting Uttarkashi to Harsil has been rebuilt, aiding the transport of machinery and relief materials after the disaster ravaged the villages of Dharali and Harsil on August 5.
Several homes were swept away following a massive mudslide in Dharali village, adding to the challenges faced by residents. In response, Uttarakhand Director General of Police Deepam Seth oversaw a comprehensive review of ongoing relief operations, ensuring coordinated efforts by police and rescue teams under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's direction.
