Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Sanjay Jaiswal on Monday urged Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, to formally submit his allegations of 'voter theft' to the Election Commission. He criticized Gandhi for not acting promptly and criticized the opposition's inconsistent approach to the issue.
In a parallel development, BJP leader Ram Kadam accused Gandhi of attempting to defame the Election Commission, labeling his actions as 'urban naxalism.' Kadam, a prominent MLA, emphasized the importance of integrity for parliamentary institutions in a democracy and chided Gandhi for allegedly supporting anti-democratic elements.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, were detained by Delhi police during a protest march to the Election Commission. The demonstration was against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. Gandhi declared their actions as a quest to preserve constitutional integrity and ensure a 'clean' voter list.
