Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday honored the memory of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary by laying a wreath at his statue in Lok Bhawan. At the same event, CM Yogi also paid floral tributes to freedom fighter Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi on her birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister recalled Vajpayee's significant contributions to Indian politics, noting his six-decade-long career that exemplified India's core ideals and the global elevation of Indian values. Celebrating Vajpayee's electoral journey, CM Yogi highlighted his initial election to the Lok Sabha in 1957 and noted his role as Prime Minister and a stalwart of Indian democracy.
Adityanath also commemorated Veerangana Avanti Bai Lodhi's 195th birth anniversary, underscoring her struggle for India's independence. Initiatives have been launched in her honor, including a new PAC battalion in Badaun, as part of broader efforts to recognize women's significant roles, alongside ongoing efforts to enhance women's safety and opportunities in the state.
