In a significant boost to Pakistan's naval capabilities, China has delivered the third of its eight Hangor-class submarines. This delivery is part of China's ongoing efforts to bolster Pakistan's maritime presence in the strategically vital Indian Ocean region, which borders India.

The recent submarine launch took place in Wuhan, in Central China's Hubei province, underscoring the strategic alliance between the two countries. The state-run Global Times confirmed the news, adding that this development follows the delivery of the second submarine earlier in March.

According to a statement by Vice Admiral Abdul Samad, Pakistan's Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, the Hangor-class submarine's advanced weaponry and sensor systems are crucial for maintaining regional stability. Notably, a report from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute highlighted that over 81 percent of Pakistan's military hardware is supplied by China, reflecting a deepening military partnership.
