New Delhi, August 16 (ANI) – Controversy has erupted over the release of the National Council of Educational Research and Training's (NCERT) new module designed for the observance of 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.' The module has been criticized by Congress for allegedly distorting history, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands firm in its defense.

BJP leaders insist that the module accurately explains the responsibility of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Congress, and Viceroy Lord Mountbatten in the partition process. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla argues that the two-nation theory was a compromise facilitated by Congress, and it is essential that students learn this 'truth.'

Congress, on the other hand, has pushed back through spokesperson Pawan Khera, calling for the module to be set ablaze if it continues to distort history, and criticizes the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as historical villains. The ongoing debate reflects deeper political schisms, as BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia accuses Congress of still harboring Jinnah's divisive ideology.
