Illuminating Lives: Seth Moirangthem's Solar Revolution in Manipur

The once darkening villages of Manipur are now basking in the quiet glow of solar energy, a transformative shift spearheaded by Seth Moirangthem. His startup, SNL Energy Solutions Ltd, has pioneered bringing clean, affordable electricity to the state's remote hilly locales and the island communities of Loktak lake.

Moirangthem, inspired during his travels in 2015, teamed up with the Selco Foundation in Bengaluru to launch the initiative. Despite logistical hurdles, the project has remarkably changed lives, letting children study longer, women extending their work hours, and health centers transitioning from loud diesel generators to stable solar energy.

Solar power, providing a lifeline to many, has made previously unlit homes safe and vibrant. By partnering with NGOs and financial institutions, SNL Energy offers accessible financing solutions for residents, a strategy poised for expansion into Assam and Nagaland, reshaping nightly routines beyond Manipur's borders.
