The Lodha Foundation has set a new benchmark by inaugurating the Lodha Mathematical Sciences Institute (LMSI) in Mumbai, marking the establishment of India's first privately funded institute dedicated to mathematics research. Abhishek Lodha, CEO and MD of Lodha Developers, articulated that the institute, under the leadership of Dr. Kumar Murty, will draw contributions from top researchers and mathematicians worldwide.

Highlighting the significant interest from the Indian diaspora and international communities, Lodha pointed to the widespread excitement about the institute's potential impact on mathematical advancement. This institute, he noted, reflects global anticipation of its contributions to the field.

Dr. V Kumar Murty, a prominent mathematician, emphasized the institute's transformative role, intending to unite varied efforts in mathematical innovation. By channeling these forces effectively, Murty anticipated the institute would unlock creativity and cement itself as a pivotal player in advancing Indian mathematics.

Dr. Murty remarked, "It is crucial because it consolidates numerous dynamics at play, enhancing their effectiveness and creativity. An institution like this serves as a game-changer in the domain of Indian mathematics." Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha expressed his support, drawing parallels to Aryabhatta's invention of zero and recognizing the caliber of mathematicians joining the institute.

Maharashtra's Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship commended the initiative, reflecting governmental support for the future advancements LMSI is set to bring, echoing Aryabhatta's remarkable legacy and Dr. Manjul's world-class expertise.
