The Telangana government has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 5 lakh to each family affected by a tragic electrocution incident during a Krishna Janmashtami procession in Ranga Reddy district. State IT & Industries Minister, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, affirmed full medical support for the injured.

The minister visited Gandhi Hospital to console the grieving families, describing the incident as extremely tragic and unfortunate. Preliminary reports suggest live current from a cable wire was the cause, prompting a detailed inquiry under the supervision of the District Collector, with strict actions promised against any party found responsible.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi's working president, KT Rama Rao, expressed shock at the incident, which claimed five lives in Hyderabad's Ramanthapur area. He appealed for government assistance, while authorities launched a drive across Greater Hyderabad to address risks from hanging cables.
