Amidst heightened political tensions, the Lok Sabha saw disruptions as opposition parties protested during a session intended to honor Commander Shubhanshu Shukla's successful mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The adjourned session will resume on August 19, 2025.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed dismay at the opposition's stance, noting their reluctance to acknowledge India's space achievements. Singh highlighted India's growing space capabilities, including the successful Operation Sindoor under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration.

Singh emphasized the government's commitment to advancing the space sector and questioned previous administrations' inaction. Meanwhile, Shukla, recently back from NASA's Axiom-4 mission, remains a symbol of India's renewed space aspirations.
